He holds a degree from the Department of Chemistry of the School of Sciences at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) and a postgraduate diploma from the Interdepartmental Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Protection, Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art and Mechanisms” of the Faculty of Engineering at A.U.Th.
From 1996 to 2007, he worked at the 10th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities (presently the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chalkidiki and Mount Athos), where he participated in conservation projects of manuscripts and archival material from Mount Athos and the wider region of Chalkidiki.
Since 2007, he has been working at the Archaeometry Laboratory of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. His scientific interests focus on the non-invasive study of antiquities. He presents the results of his research in conferences and peer-reviewed scientific journals.
