Dr. Angeliki Koukouvou is an archaeologist with both a graduate degree and a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has been working for the Greek Ministry of Culture since 1993. Throughout her career, she has conducted numerous excavations in Northern Greece and, since 2004, has served at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (AMTh).
She has curated many permanent and temporary exhibitions, along with their accompanying catalogues. From 2018 to 2024, Dr. Koukouvou was the Head of the Department of Exhibitions, Communication, and Education. Additionally, from 2019 to April 2023, she served as the Deputy Director of AMTh.
Between 2019 and 2023, as head of management, she led the successful implementation of four European co-funded projects carried out by the museum, enhancing the museum experience for visitors through the use of digital tools. In December 2024, Dr. Koukouvou was appointed Head of the Museum's Publications and Digital Applications Directorate.
Her research interests include museum studies, ancient technology, sculpture, and epigraphy of the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
