The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Friends of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, continues its much-loved scientific lecture series: Wednesdays at the Museum – Archaeological Lectures. The event invites the public to engage with archaeological discussions and discoveries in a scholarly yet accessible format.
This initiative aims to introduce the public of Thessaloniki to significant archaeological sites across Greece, highlighting new excavation work, interdisciplinary research, and the resulting findings.
The lecture will be given by Dr. Eleni Papadopoulou, Director of the Archaeological Museum of Chania. She will explore the spaces housing the new museum, highlighting its permanent exhibition, which showcases the rich archaeological heritage of western Crete, linked to its geomorphological environment and cultural context. Additionally, she will present the museum's functions and activities, both past and upcoming, aimed at fostering a multifaceted presence and contribution to both the local and international community.
