What do a small boy’s statue—known as The Little Refugee from the National Archaeological Museum—and two little girls on a relief from Raidestos, housed in the Collections of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, have in common?
The stories of these young refugee children will be narrated to our young visitors by the General Director of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, who will read Christos Boulotis’s fairy tale The Statue That Felt Cold, on Sunday, 16 November 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the museum’s new Hall of Educational Programs and Creative Workshops for All.
With this story, we inaugurate a new initiative of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki titled “Sunday Storytime at the Museum.”
Designed for families with children, this event will take place once a month on Sundays.
Each time, we will read archaeology-themed fairy tales connected to selected museum exhibits, helping children become familiar with our cultural heritage in an engaging and imaginative way.
After the reading, children will be invited to create their own stories inspired by what they have heard.
The program is aimed at children aged 4 to 9, accompanied by an adult.
Regular museum admission policy applies.
Pre-registration is required by phone at 2313 310 201 (Mon–Fri, 09:00–14:00).
