Researchers from various countries had the opportunity to present their studies on the acoustic and performative practices that shaped the world of Alexander the Great during the international conference “Music, Dance, and Soundscapes in the World of Alexander the Great” (15–19 October), organized by the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Institute of Heritage Science, Italy).

Among the participants was Dr. Styliana Galiniki, Head of the Department of Collections and Exhibitions, who, in her presentation titled “The Ecstatic Soundscape of the Derveni Krater,” highlighted the acoustic dimensions of the iconography of the Derveni Krater, one of the most emblematic exhibits of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
