The "Thessaloniki Intercultural Storytelling Festival", Fairytale Days, returns for its 13th edition from September 28 to October 8, 2024. Hosted by Action Art, this festival unites cultures, languages, and stories. Featuring performances, myths, legends, multilingual storytelling, and seminars by renowned narrators, the centerpiece is The Mother with a Thousand Faces, focusing on motherhood and womanhood.
The festival is co-organized by the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Thessaloniki, and the Museum of School Life and Education, in collaboration with cultural institutions in the city. Emphasis is placed on connecting storytelling with cultural heritage through events held in historic venues. The festival aims to highlight oral tradition as a tool for community empowerment and cultural connection.
As part of the festival, the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki co-organizes a two-day event featuring a multilingual storytelling night at Yeni Mosque and a seminar on storytelling and fairy tales. Esteemed narrators, scientists, and researchers will delve into the richness of oral tradition and offer tools for its application in various fields. These activities aim to explore the power of stories and provide insights for professionals in education, culture, and social sciences.
The festival is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Tourism Organization of Thessaloniki (ΟΤΘ), the Ministry of Culture, and the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage.

October 5: Evening of multilingual storytelling at the Yeni Mosque, with the theme "The Mother with a Thousand Faces."
October 5 & 6: Storytelling seminar at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (AMTH), with participation certificates for cultural professionals.
