The Directorate for the Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments (ΔΣΑΝΜ), the Association of Conservators of Antiquities and Works of Art (ΣΣΑΕΤΤΕ), and the Greek branch of ICOM coordinate the European Days of Conservation in Greece. This event is part of a European initiative organized by the European Confederation of Conservator-Restorers' Organisations (ECCO), aiming to raise awareness and promote the importance of cultural heritage conservation through various educational and engaging activities.

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki supports the European Day of Conservation 2024 by participating in the event's activities. The museum’s Conservation Department will host a guided tour of the conservation laboratories, showcasing two digital applications for mobile devices centered around the preservation of antiquities. These applications were developed in collaboration with the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) for the museum’s exhibition "Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki: 60 years | 60 moments." The tour will also demonstrate the entire process of creating these applications, from concept to completion.
