During a brief visit to the Emirate of Sharjah, upon invitation, the General Director of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, Dr. Anastasia Gadolou, along with a team of the museum’s scientific staff, were warmly welcomed by the local Archaeological Authority, in the context of the scientific cooperation developed between the two countries in the field of cultural heritage.

During the mission, the Greek delegation had the opportunity to tour significant archaeological sites of the Emirate, to be informed about major findings, as well as excavation and restoration activities, and to experience firsthand aspects of the cultural heritage and historical journey of Sharjah from antiquity to the present day.

The warm hospitality concluded with a mutual commitment to explore the possibilities of a future multi-level collaboration between the Archaeological Authority of the Emirate of Sharjah and the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.

This experience further strengthens the commitment of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki to the development of international partnerships and the exchange of expertise in the field of protection and promotion of cultural heritage.
