The Department of Music Ensembles and Artistic Education of the Municipality of Thessaloniki is organizing for the second consecutive year the Thessaloniki Soloist Festival, within the framework of which musical events will take place from 7 to 23 July 2025 at various emblematic cultural venues and historical monuments/landmarks of the city of Thessaloniki. The festival features high-level music and dance performances, which—combined with the uniqueness of the venues—offer an unforgettable journey through history and culture for the audience.

On 21 July, in the atrium of the Museum, a concert will be held featuring saxophonist Dimitrios Vassilakis and the Espen Berg Trio “Persephone” from Norway. The melodic and rhythmically complex music of Espen serves as the foundation for the trio’s dynamic and idiosyncratic interaction with the spontaneous saxophone prose of Dimitrios Vassilakis. The two have been collaborating since 2019, are both multi-award-winning artists, and have performed on the world’s leading music stages.
