An international scientific conference entitled “Amphoras and the Archaeology of Ancient Economies (8th through 1st Centuries BC) | Part 3 THESSALONIKI: Regional Production – Regional Circulation: Amphoras and Aegean Communities” will be held at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki on 10 and 11 October 2025.
It aims to bring together researchers from Greece and abroad, who will share with colleagues and the public new discoveries, and will discuss issues of production, dissemination, distribution, and use of commercial amphoras in the Aegean and the wider region.
The conference is organised by the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chalkidiki and Mount Athos.
The official language of the conference is English.
